Simmerdim formed in early 2015 as an a cappella trio, and we are based in Edinburgh. We sing songs from all around the world and from all sorts of genres.

Frances Cockburn
I come from a musical family and have sung, both by myself and with others, for as long as I can remember. I directed a twenty voice a cappella choir, Rudsambee, for seven years; and then a seven voice group, the Wild Myrtles, also for seven years; before starting Simmerdim in February 2015. I also write and arrange music, some of which can be found on Canasg, an online publishing company. I love singing, composing, travelling, eating and drinking – not necessarily in that order! |

I love stories, especially the ones in songs and books, and I've been singing in choirs since primary school. When not singing with Simmerdim, I can either be found selling books for one of Edinburgh's biggest publishers or running Cymera: Scotland's Festival of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Writing. |

I remember singing rounds and harmony songs with my sister in the bath when we were six and we never really stopped! I spent my teens singing with Cantamus Girls Choir, and joined the Wild Myrtles when I moved to Edinburgh. I’ve had several breaks from regular singing and life’s not quite the same without it. When I’m not singing, I’m a freelance costume maker and seamstress, and mum to two boys. |
